1. Controller

2. Data we process

We only process data required to operate Traip.

• Account: email address, hashed password, sign-up and confirmation timestamps (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Library: the places you save, including country, region and coordinates (contract performance).
• Traveler profile: optional interests and needs used to personalise content (consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, revocable at any time).
• Location: only when you explicitly request it in the browser; coordinates are used to identify the place and are not stored as a movement profile.
• Payments: customer and subscription identifiers; card data is processed exclusively by Stripe.
• Server and error logs: technical data such as IP address, timestamp and error message to keep the service running (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3. Processors and recipients

We work with carefully selected providers under data processing agreements or appropriate safeguards pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR:

• Hosting, database and authentication (data centres in the EU).
• Stripe Payments Europe Ltd., Ireland — processing of Premium payments.
• AI services used to generate and translate place content; we transmit place names and, where applicable, profile preferences, never contact details.
• Research and image sources (e.g. Wikimedia, Openverse, official city and tourism sites) — retrieval of public content.

4. Retention

Account data and saved places are deleted when you delete your account or the entry. Invoices and payment records are retained for up to ten years due to commercial and tax law obligations. Technical logs are deleted after a short period.

5. Cookies and local storage

Traip uses no advertising or tracking cookies. We use strictly necessary browser storage for your session, your language choice and offline availability of saved guides (§ 25(2) TDDDG).

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests.

7. Security

All traffic is encrypted via TLS. Access to account data and saved places is technically restricted to the respective account.
